Ever wonder what if? For a 24 (or 23) year old, the list can’t long, but it most definitely can be profound. What if you had chosen a different school, a different major, a different ending to your relationship, a different career, a different city….what if you had decided to quit your investment banking job 10 months after starting it?
They say life is made up of experiences and since experiences come from opportunities, we’ll extrapolate and say that life is made up of opportunities – ones taken and ones not taken. Well, rare is the situation that allows you to see both sides of a parallel universe as they unfold. Rarer is, when the decision tree involves quitting your job. And rarest of all is, when one of the two parties involved has such a complicated relationship with sleep that he will stay up after his job to blog all this in real time.
This blog is an attempt to tell the story of two different paths – one who stayed on the street and one got off.
I heard once that they would rather hear about memories than enemies
Rather hear what was or will be than what is
Rather hear how you got it over how much it cost you
Rather hear about finding yourself and how you lost you
Rather you make this an open letter
About family and struggle and it taking forever
About hearts that you’ve broken and ties that you’ve severed
No doubt in my mind, that’ll make them feel better
